Continuing the Journey of Recovery in Pidie Jaya, Aceh

Recovery after a disaster does not end when the floodwaters recede. For many communities, the real challenge begins in the weeks and months that follow as they work to rebuild their homes, restore daily routines, and regain access to essential services.

Earlier this year, Cahaya Jakarta Group took part in supporting the recovery of SDIT Ceudah Rabbani in Pidie Jaya, Aceh, helping restore a learning environment for students affected by the devastating floods. The initiative reflected the company’s belief that education is a vital foundation for rebuilding stronger communities.

As recovery efforts continue across the region, Cahaya Jakarta Group has expanded its support beyond educational facilities by addressing another urgent need faced by flood-affected residents: access to clean water.

Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the company provided clean water assistance to communities in and around Pidie Jaya, Aceh, where many residents continued to experience challenges in accessing safe and reliable water sources following the floods.

Addressing One of the Most Urgent Post-Flood Needs

Floods often leave behind more than visible damage. Water sources that communities depend on for daily activities can become contaminated by mud, debris, and waste, making them unsafe for consumption and household use.

For families in flood-affected areas, access to clean water is essential not only for drinking and cooking but also for maintaining hygiene and preventing the spread of disease during the recovery period.

Recognizing this urgent need, Cahaya Jakarta Group mobilized resources to deliver clean water assistance to affected communities. The initiative was designed to help residents meet their daily needs while supporting overall health and well-being during the post-disaster recovery phase.

By ensuring access to clean water, the company hopes to contribute to a safer and healthier environment for families as they continue rebuilding their lives.

From Rebuilding Schools to Supporting Communities

The clean water assistance initiative represents a natural continuation of Cahaya Jakarta Group’s efforts in Aceh.

While the previous CSR program focused on helping restore educational facilities and providing students with a conducive environment to continue learning, this latest initiative broadens the company’s support to the wider community.

Both programs share the same purpose: helping communities recover with dignity and resilience.

Whether through rebuilding learning spaces or providing access to clean water, Cahaya Jakarta Group remains committed to standing alongside communities during times of need and contributing to meaningful, long-term recovery efforts.

Strengthening Community Resilience Through CSR

At Cahaya Jakarta Group, Corporate Social Responsibility is more than a program. It is a commitment to creating positive and lasting impact.

The company believes that businesses have an important role to play in supporting communities, especially during challenging times. By responding to immediate needs while also supporting long-term recovery, CSR initiatives can help strengthen community resilience and accelerate the rebuilding process.

The clean water assistance program in Aceh reflects this commitment. Through collaboration, compassion, and direct community engagement, Cahaya Jakarta Group strives to ensure that its support reaches those who need it most.

Building Hope, One Step at a Time

The road to recovery after a disaster is often a long one, requiring collective effort from communities, government institutions, humanitarian organizations, and the private sector.

For Cahaya Jakarta Group, supporting the recovery of Aceh is not limited to a single initiative. From helping restore educational facilities at SDIT Ceudah Rabbani to providing clean water assistance for flood-affected communities in Pidie Jaya, every effort is part of a broader commitment to helping communities move forward.

As families continue rebuilding their homes, schools, and livelihoods, Cahaya Jakarta Group remains dedicated to creating meaningful impact through initiatives that address real needs and support sustainable recovery.

Because every classroom restored, every community supported, and every drop of clean water delivered represents more than assistance. It represents hope, resilience, and a shared commitment to building a stronger future together.

When Learning Was Disrupted

When floods hit parts of Aceh, learning at SDIT Ceudah Rabbani came to a halt.

Classrooms were left covered in mud—floors damaged, furniture displaced, and for weeks, students had no proper place to learn. Around 100 students and 15 teachers were affected, as the school’s infrastructure suffered significant damage. At least three classrooms required full reconstruction, while others were no longer safe for daily use.

For many students, school—once a place of routine—suddenly became uncertain. Lessons were interrupted, and the absence of a proper learning space disrupted not only academic progress, but also their sense of stability.

In situations like this, access to education becomes one of the most affected aspects of daily life. When a school like SDIT Ceudah Rabbani cannot function, the disruption extends beyond the classroom—impacting routines, learning continuity, and students’ overall development.

Restoring the School

In response to these conditions, Cahaya Jakarta Group initiated a renovation program to support the recovery of SDIT Ceudah Rabbani. Working together with ASAR, along with on-site teams and volunteers, the effort focused on rebuilding the most critical classrooms first—allowing students to gradually return to a safer learning environment.

The goal was simple but essential: to make the school usable again, so students could return to learning as soon as possible.

The Renovation Process

The renovation began on April 18, 2026, marking an important step in the school’s recovery.

On-site teams worked to clear debris, repair damaged structures, and restore classrooms that had been left unusable after the flood. Floors were fixed, walls were reinforced, and learning spaces were gradually prepared again.

Over time, visible progress began to take shape. Spaces that once stood silent started to come back to life—no longer abandoned, but slowly becoming functional learning environments once more.

This rebuilding process required close coordination, time, and sustained effort on the ground.

Beyond Reconstruction

While the physical transformation was important, the impact extended beyond buildings.

For students, school is more than a place to study. It is where they interact, build friendships, and develop a sense of routine. Reopening classrooms means restoring that structure—allowing students to return to familiar rhythms and continue their learning journey without prolonged disruption.

Supporting Long-Term Recovery

Cahaya Jakarta Group believes that rebuilding spaces also means rebuilding opportunities. Supporting the recovery of SDIT Ceudah Rabbani reflects a broader commitment to strengthening communities through access to education.

A School Brought Back to Life

Today, the difference can be felt across the school.

Spaces that were once covered in mud are now filled again—with students, with activity, and with the rhythm of learning returning. Classrooms that were previously unusable are now part of daily school life again.

Because rebuilding a school is not only about restoring structures—it is about restoring the future within it.

Cahaya Jakarta’s Commitment to Empowering Communities Through Blood Donation

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is not only about giving back—it is about creating meaningful impact that directly improves and saves lives. Cahaya Jakarta embraces this principle by organizing regular social initiatives that address real community needs. One of the company’s most impactful CSR programs is its blood donation campaign, an initiative that reflects compassion, social responsibility, and a strong commitment to public health.

Blood donation plays a critical role in supporting healthcare systems. Hospitals and medical centers rely on a stable blood supply to treat patients undergoing surgery, accident victims, individuals with chronic illnesses, and mothers facing childbirth complications. Unfortunately, the demand for blood often exceeds the available supply. Recognizing this urgent need, Cahaya Jakarta actively contributes by organizing blood donation drives that encourage employees, partners, and the surrounding community to become life savers.

Through this initiative, Cahaya Jakarta aims to raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation while making it easier and more accessible for people to participate. The company collaborates with authorized medical institutions and professional health teams to ensure that each blood drive is conducted safely, hygienically, and according to medical standards. Participants go through proper health screening, consultation, and post-donation care, ensuring both donor safety and blood quality.

Last year marked an important milestone for Cahaya Jakarta’s CSR efforts in healthcare. The company successfully organized two blood donation events on June 6, 2025, and October 29, 2025. Both events received enthusiastic participation from employees and members of the community. The positive response demonstrated a growing awareness and willingness among participants to contribute to a cause that directly saves lives.

Beyond the numbers, the impact of these events goes far deeper. Every bag of blood collected represents hope for patients in need. From emergency treatments to long-term medical care, donated blood becomes a lifeline for many individuals and families. By facilitating these contributions, Cahaya Jakarta plays a meaningful role in strengthening community health and supporting medical services.

Employee involvement is a key element that makes this CSR program truly special. The company encourages its staff not only to participate as donors but also to volunteer in organizing and supporting the events. This active engagement fosters a culture of empathy, teamwork, and social awareness within the organization. Employees often describe the experience as rewarding, knowing that a simple act can make a life-changing difference for someone else.

In addition to supporting healthcare, the blood donation program also promotes a healthier lifestyle among participants. Regular health checks conducted before donation help donors monitor their physical condition, including blood pressure and hemoglobin levels. This preventive aspect encourages individuals to pay more attention to their health while contributing to a noble cause.

Cahaya Jakarta’s blood donation initiative also strengthens relationships with the surrounding community. By opening participation beyond internal staff, the company creates an inclusive environment where business and society work together for a shared humanitarian mission. These collaborations help build trust, strengthen social bonds, and reinforce the company’s role as a responsible and caring corporate citizen.

Consistency is at the heart of Cahaya Jakarta’s CSR philosophy. Rather than conducting one-time activities, the company is committed to sustaining its blood donation program as a long-term initiative. By organizing regular events, Cahaya Jakarta helps maintain a stable blood supply and continuously encourages a culture of voluntary donation within its network.

At its core, Cahaya Jakarta believes that businesses have the power to create positive change beyond their operational goals. The blood donation program is a reflection of the company’s values—care, responsibility, and a genuine desire to make a difference. By turning compassion into action, Cahaya Jakarta continues to empower communities and support the health and well-being of society.

Through every drop donated, lives are saved. And through every initiative, Cahaya Jakarta reaffirms its mission: not only to grow as a business, but also to become a source of hope and positive impact for the community.
